Leaving Stocky
Shopify closes Stocky on 31 August 2026.
This page is not a sales pitch. It is the list of what to get out before then — because some of it cannot be recovered afterwards by us or by anyone else, and the part most people forget is the part with no export button at all.

Min/max levels and stock transfers were removed
Already gone, over a year ago. If you were running Stocky on min/max, you have been without it for some time — which matters for what a replacement actually needs to do.

The app stops. Anything you have not exported by then is a question of what Shopify chooses to make available afterwards, and that is not a plan.
Do this first
Export your suppliers. Nothing else is as urgent.
Supplier records cannot be exported from Stocky. No app can undo that, including this one — which means the supplier list, the contacts, the per-SKU costs and the lead times are the data most likely to end up being retyped from memory or from old invoices.
Whatever you can get on screen, get into a spreadsheet this week. Copy and paste is a legitimate migration strategy when the alternative is losing it.
Who you buy from, and at what
One row per supplier–SKU pair. A row with a supplier but no SKU creates the supplier on its own, so you can bring the contact list across even where you have no costs to attach yet.

Green is the only one that is required. lead_time_days and moq are the per-SKU overrides — they are what the reorder suggestion multiplies and rounds to, so they are worth the effort.
What your stock cost you
One row per variant, setting the starting cost every later receipt averages on top of. Get this one right and your margin column is true from day one.

One of those two must identify the variant — SKU is matched first, barcode is the fallback. qty_on_hand is context for the ledger entry and never moves your inventory; Shopify stays the authority on quantities.
Four things that will save you a re-do
- SKUs must be unique. Variants are matched on SKU first, case-insensitively, then on barcode exactly. A SKU used by two variants is ambiguous and will be reported rather than guessed at.
- Split anything over 2,000 rows. That is the per-file limit, and a Stocky export is very often the file that exceeds it. Two files of 1,500 import fine.
- Opening costs go in before anything else. They are refused for a variant that already has cost history, because an opening balance that lands after a receipt would be averaging into the past.
- Don't tidy it first. Send it messy. Every row is validated and shown to you before a single one is written, and it is far easier to fix what a preview flags than to guess in advance.
What we'll do with them
Send them now. We'll load them the day we're listed.
Stocked is not on the Shopify App Store yet, so you cannot install it today even if you want to. That is a problem for us, not a reason for you to sit on a deadline.
So: email the files. We hold them, check they will actually import, and tell you what we found — including anything that will not survive the trip. The day Stocked is listed, they go in on your first sync and your costs are right from the start.
No account to create, no card, nothing to install. If you decide Stocked is not for you, say so and we delete them — the export is yours either way, and having it in a spreadsheet before 31 August is worth doing whoever you end up using.

What Stocked does not replace.
Stocky users arrive looking for specific habits. Two of them are not here, and finding that out in month two would be worse for both of us.
Minimum and maximum levels per SKU
Stocked has no min/max field and is not planning one. It suggests a quantity instead — sales velocity × (supplier lead time + your cover target), less stock on hand and on order, rounded up to the MOQ.
Worth knowing: Stocky removed min/max on 7 July 2025. If that is the workflow you are trying to get back, no current tool is giving it back to you — and a suggestion computed from what actually sold is a better answer than a number you set last year and forgot.
Stock transfers between locations
Stocked does move units between locations, and audits every move. What it does not have is Stocky's transfer document — the multi-line, send-then-receive workflow with its own status.
Stocky removed transfers on the same day it removed min/max, in July 2025, so this is likely already how you work.
